So, Hailey and Luke had their 5 year and 18 month check-ups together today. They went ok...Hailey is still too stinkin smart for her own good and talked the doctors ears off. Luke pretty much cried the whole time because he's getting 4 new teeth in at the same time (one of them a molar) and was super tired and doesn't like new people touching him. Anyway, back to my original thought...for any of you who have gotten the slight chance to look at Luke without his binky in his mouth, he is missing one of his top front teeth. For a while, I wasn't too concerned, I just figured it was stubborn...but almost 11 teeth later (5 on top, 6 on bottom), he is STILL missing that front tooth! It's been kind of a joke in our house that we have a white trash Beverly Hillbilly baby in the family, because when he smiles real big, he's got a full grill, minus ONE! It's pretty funny to look at, but not so funny as a Mom. Anyway, I asked the doctor about it today, and she said totally nonchalantly: "He might not have one in there." Excuse me!? She continued: "Take him to the Dentist and get him X-Rayed to see...he might have his permanent tooth in there somewhere, but just not his baby tooth." UH!?!? Yeah, that's not ok with me! I don't want my son runnin' around with one missing front tooth till he's what...like 8!? Apparently it was no big deal to my Pediatrician...and I'm sure everyone reading this is laughing at me and my toothless son, but come on! If it were YOUR kid, how would you feel?? Can you give blessings for your kids' teeth to grow? Lol.
