Too smart for Mama

So I was putting Hailey to bed last night and usually she tries to stall going to bed by saying she needs a drink of water, lip gloss, she's too hot, etc...well last night she didn't do any of that, and was being really sweet and asked if she could talk to me for a little while. So that kinda touched my heart, and made me think this would be good mommy/daughter time to possibly teach her something important...so I said sure, and laid next to her on her bed. So she starts asking me some really good questions and we have a good conversation going...but 30 minutes into it, she starts running out of intelligent things to say and just starts asking really dumb questions that she already knew the answers to. 10 minutes after that, I FINALLY realize what she's doing...and I say "Hailey...were you just asking me questions because you didn't want to go to bed?" She smiles and shakes her head YES and says, "You didn't know what I was doing, did you?!" I just laugh and kiss her goodnight and leave feeling humiliated that my 4 year old daughter totally outsmarted her own Mother. I wonder how long it took her to scheme up her little plan against me...probably not very long. My life in a nutshell. (:
